Sharp throughout its range, with good colour rendition, well built. Zoom can be push-pulled, or rotated. Good range for wildlife or action sports. Depending on background and focus, bokeh can be good or a little distracting. Autofocus is accurate and fast, but if it decides to focus back in, then out again it takes time, a focus limiter would have been good. Manual focus is useful but a bit awkward when handheld. Big, heavy lens, a tripod helps, but can be handheld in good light. Not sure it would be as good on a camera without image stabilization in the body. I rarely need the big hood, so far flare is not a big problem. If it's what you need, it can be good value.
