The buzz on campus was about two different guys in two different movies that were, let's just say "different". mel Gibson in "Tim" and Jay Underwood as "The Boy who Could Fly" and say almost nothing the whole movie. To relive that movie and the feel good movie making concepts we discused as young videographers, was a great romp back to roots of great cinema. This movie was made before the days of CG when people who "flew" had crains and cables masked gy color, focus or action. it was fun to go back ans see that stuff now that we knew what to look for, but it was before, invisible. We would have to have it on DVD to first enjoy the movie, and then to go back through to study it. In the 90's it was re-released with director and Jay Underwood comentaries. It has long since been out of print and Jay has gone away from the movie business and is very succesful in ministry. I applaud him even more.... Where do you find anything concerning electronics? EBAY!!! Good seller raitings and great price made me take the chance. it was exctily as described and played flawlessly. I have watched thre times just for fun, and I usually do not do that repitition thing. I wanted to see Fred Savage in one of his first roles, and good ole Fred Gwynn in one of his last. Amazing... Thanks EBAY and all the top rated sellers. I actually bought something off of the internet. hahaaaaaaRead full review
I still love this movie no matter how many times I have watched it. Shared it with my 10 year old daughter and she enjoyed it too.

I remember watching this movie when I was younger. I think we all have wished we could fly at one point or another, that was my big fantasy when I was little. This is a very cute movie, it has some really sad parts that are very touching, some exciting parts, and overall it's just very entertaining. My little boy is 8, he watched it for the first time and he really loved it. I would recomend it to anyone, definitely a classic.
An absolutely wonderful, sweet, heartwarming movie about neighbors each facing adversity, each finding strength deep within themselves and each growing and triumphing over their individual problems. You feel the pain that each of the characters feel as they face everything from depression and grief, moving to a new home and neighborhood, new schools and friends, bullies, alcoholism and more. It has excellent casting. It is a superb feel good family film whose message is never dated.
As a child in the 80s this was my favorite film and still is today. The plot, though purely fantasy I find to be magnificent. This is a lovely, enlightening movie about how anything is possible when true love is involved. It also stresses that imagination is power and this power is something no one can take away. Belief is also discussed as well. Now that I think about it, this movie is actually very philosophical and I think it can speak to dreamers of all ages who have never stopped dreaming and are bold enough to continue dreaming. (**** out of ****)
