Additional information
Personnel includes: Tina Turner, Ike Turner, The Ikettes. An entertaining hodgepodge of an album. No credits are given, but from the aural evidence it's a mix of r&b tracks from the early '60s, including the duo's first hits ("A Fool in Love" and the often covered "It's Gonna Work Out Fine") and early '70s demo material recorded at Ike Turner's home studio. The '60s stuff is vastly entertaining, with Tina's don't-mess-with-me personna already in place, but the later work is particularly fascinating, with Ike's brilliant guitar coming into increased prominence (see the re-make of "River Deep-Mountain High," in which Ike replaces Phil Spector's Wall of Sound with Stones-ish funk).
