A 128 Gb SSD drive is not such a big deal anymore, but when upgrading an old laptop, it can work wonders. The only other way I can see to speed up old systems is increasing memory. However, some old machines have a memory limit due to chipset and motherboard limitations. So this is the way to go to squeeze the last ounce of speed from an old system.

Mostly works, but didn't want to wake from sleep in the first computer I tried it with (Dell OptiPlex 9020 with a 4th gen i5) - I had to shut down and then power back on to get the drive to re-appear. I updated the Dell to the latest bios, and went looking for a firmware update for the SSD, but couldn't find one. Transcend's SSC Scope tool didn't even recognize it as a transcend drive! It seemed to work fine for the second computer I tried it with (Ryzen 1600 / Asus STRIX B350-F GAMING motherboard). Speeds were fine for an older, low-end SSD. Nothing record-shattering, but certainly faster than a mechanical HDD.

I expected worse results from used drive, but this had just 150 on/off cycles and low writes count.
