Works fine, much cheaper than the hardware store. Highly recommended.

Yes, the adapter will mate non-Australian plugs to an Australian socket - but it's clear this product is made cheaply and built to a price. What the user will notice is that th grounding pin is not exactly aligned and parallel to the other two pins, it's actually at an angle, demonstrating its less-than-proper design and mediocre construction. The real concern is that the unit does NOT meet current Australian electrical standards. By law, the live and neutral pins must be 50% covered with a non-conductive coating (to mitigate against accidental shorting). Buying an electrical device in Australia, the user will notice the two angled pins (live and neutral) have a black coating; that's a safety measure and now required by law. This cheap knock-off does not have this protective coating and by definition, violates Australian standards. Users beware, use of such a product will likely violate your insurance coverage.Read full review

a most useful "gadget" as often things on ebay are designed for other destinations and I can buy and use them here

With no boarders with internet online shopping etc. more and more products are being imported with non Australian plugs (eg UK, USA). This is a great fix rather than have plug replaced as cost!

When choosing a universal yo /au Power Plug, I chise the model that has a 3 pin plug. Yhis provides a more stable connection than the 2 pin plug.
