    Ripped Off Not Mint

    This is undoubtably a fantastic lens and reputed to be sharper than the newer VR version. My gripe is not with the lens so much but as the way it was advertised. It is not even close to being mint. Loved certainly but there is much evidence of heavy wear. All rubber grips will need to be replaced as they were loose due to wear. There needs to be better guide lines as to what 'Mint" means.

    This is a good lens to use by Pros and semi pros in studio, low light.

    This lens is good to have with your camera gear, weather it is FX, DX or 35mm film like the F5 or F6 cameras. The AF-S is fast and quiet which is good to use like wedding or engagement. Nikon is using nano crystals in this high end lens to reduce ghosting and directed light. The 24-70mm f2.8 G is good to use in low light at F2.8 and is a bit heavy on the hand and the lenshood is big to put on this lens. It is over 7cm in legnth and 10.5cm wide giving alot of space for the 24-70mm lens barrel to move in and out when zooming. This lens goes well with any D3 series, D4, D700, D300,D300s ( with or without batterygrip) It is a good lens to have any any work you are in.

    As good as it gets - a professional, sharp, fast-focusing mid-range zoom

    Why buy the new VR model when you can get a sensational professional mid-range zoom that is sharper in the centre for nearly one third of the VR price? This is a wonderful lens. I love it. PS: Five years later, having foolishly sold this lens, I have bought another.
