This Flash Unit is pretty simple to operate, includes all the necessary information to walk you through operation in reasonably simple format, some of the terms may be a little more complex for the beginner All up a great unit for the price, and fits directly to the Canon 1000D Camera as advertised Comes in a protective case for safe storage, and well packed from the manufacturer to protect it in transit Unit includes many of the features of the dearer branded units but at a much reduced cost
Used this speedlight as primary, slave and multi-flash. On 1/16 in M-F mode I was able to capture a person's movement at 5 flashes per second. Very good as a primary or slave speedlight. Either for Key or fill light. Very high Guide number. I have 2 of these speedlights and looking to buy another in the future.

I purchased this flash after reading many reviews and getting some personal recommendations from friends. I was a bit hesitant as I shoot with Canon and normally would use a Canon flash as I like the ETTL options of Canon. I thought long and hard and finally decided I wanted this as a second flash unit to use off camera. So I decided to go with this unit without the ETTL as I would be using manual controls. After using it to light a fashion style session for my daughter who is doing a school project all I can say is wow. It is simple to use - probably simpler then the Canon 430 EXII I also own. The controls are simple and clean - not fiddly. You push a button and you know you pushed it - no soft buttons where you keep pushing away wondering if you got it right. The flash is powerful - stronger then my Canon and at around 1/3 of the price - a bargain. I combined this with some wireless receivers and a trigger and they just work brilliantly. I am so happy with the performance. Highly recommended for photographers wanting a quality flash unit that is super simple to use.Read full review
I bought the YongNuo YN-560II after reading heaps of reviews about it. It was highly rated. Opening my package. I was Happy to find it feels like good quality and has a nice pouch Using it, I was really impressed with the ease of changing settings. The fine tuning of flash power is handy. Works really well for on and off camera use. For me it is best (and mostly) used off camera. But when used on camera the swivel head gives real flexibility. I also tested the recycle rate. With fresh Rechargeable battery's it can keep up with my cameras 6.5 FPS rate up to 1/4 power, at full power it is closer to 2 FPS. The slave mode is really good, works where other units miss.
Bought this flash for my Nikon D5000 as the inbuilt flash just doesn't cut it. The original Nikon speedlites are well over $500 so I couldn't justify that for the few times I would need it. I was pleasantly surprised with this flash from the first use. It has enough basic features allowing you to set the shuttle speed, appature, distance to give great pictures. Both inside and outside pictures taken with this flash are 100% better than I've previously taken with the camera's own flash and the inbuilt diffuser and bounce card are a real help. It uses 4 AA batteries and recharge time to flash again is quite sufficient but keep a spare set if you are taking over 50 shots on full power. If you are an amateur photographer like me then this one will really be plenty. Instructions are very basic but the flash is easy enough to work out.Read full review
