Great little compact lens. Can be focused manually, with front ring, whilst still in "Auto" mode - which was a surprise. Crisp, crystal clear images. Nice Bokeh. Superb low light capability. Obviously the f1.4 would be slightly better, but Why pay the extra, for very little improvement. Great addition to my 18/55 Kit lens, and sigma 75/300 Macro zoom APO. Now all I need is cash for better than my D3100 ! which is great with this lens anyway !looking forward to some Sky shots at the seaside where there is no light pollution. Thanks. Gaz.

Really nice lens. Auto focus is, while not silent, quick and 99% reliable. Using single point focus requires some getting used to as wide open there's such a shallow depth of field to nail focus. Boken is pretty standard, can be often "blotchy" but it's pretty amazing given price. The focal length is a nice walk around lens and worked really well on my recent trip. Did occasionally wish I had a wider field of view however, but that's where other lenses are necessary Practically impossible to do handheld video as there's no stabilisation, and auto focus is picked up by on board mics. Manual focusing is quite intuitive though after a while. Throw it on a tripod though and you're golden.

This 35mm is a must have lens for your Nikon kitbag, although not as bokeh-lishious as the 50mm, the extra width gets you to cram much more in at a closer range than the 50, pulling superb crisp images with silky out of focus highlights, you will get some great images from this glass.

I brought this lens for my d3200 camera. And the pictures it’s producing are far better than the two kit lenses I have already the blurred background is softened and really makes the subject pop right out. I tested it in Auto focus on my dog and was very happy with the results.

If you not willing to spend small fortune for 35mm DX lens for your camera, you can't go wrong with this one. It is equivalent of 52mm FX. Allows to do nice full body portrait indoors.

A great lens for astrophotography, just the right focal length for some of my wide field needs. At F1.8, a very fast lens, helping gather details much quicker than a kit lens.

I bought this lens as I wanted a wide prime lens for my camera. I already have 3 lenses which I used to switch between regularly, I bought the 35mm 6 weeks ago and practical haven't taken it off my camera since then. It is a very sharp lens with great low light ability. For the price I'd would definitely recommend it.

Only just purchased this lens, but already enjoying using it. Got mine secondhand on eBay for a good price. Easy to use and feel it's a good investment for a novice such as me and a handy addition to my kit (Nikon D3300, basic tripod, etc). Looking forward to exploring its full capabilities. Would definitely recommend it is a prime lens.

If I had to choose one lens for my Nikon D90...this would be it. Image is sharp, it perform well in low light situations, it works very well with my D90 and if you want artistic touch without Photoshop then just may use different filters (52mm) - there are plenty of those available in Ebay. As it is fixed lens, you have to zoom with your legs or use additional equipment but it is worth it. I like it. It is my favorite lens for the moment. Very good price/quality ratio.

compared to my 50mm af-d which is very sharp after f2.5 this is razor sharp straight from f1.8 and quieter, dont miss read this as both lenses are brilliant and everyone should own both of them as such good value, the 50mm af-d just has the edge in bokeh, i have had both the yongnuo versions which are good value but the nikon build quality is better for a little more cash, treat yourself and improve your photography,
