I use to have a Garmin GPS where the power cord went directly into the suction cup base. This made the removal of the device for security purposes tremendously easy! It has become annoying that when I remove device from the suction cup mount, the cord is directly plugged into the device and I have to go through the trouble of disconnecting the cord from the device to store it in the trunk, etc. Maybe a small thing but I guess I have to do this multiple times a day which is why it has become a small issue with me.

I've used Garmin GPS on my motorcycles for years. My last Garmin 1100 was a good GPS, reliable and easy to use, but I wanted something with the lifetime maps, because spending $50 every year to update the maps isn't fun. I bought this 1300 LMT a few months ago, it works pretty good, not quite as bright on the screen as the older one was, but the maps are better with more info. Just be sure that whenever you buy a GPS, get a 4 GB or larger SD card, so that you can download all the maps and accessories. I mostly use my GPS for monitoring my speed and keeping track of my mileage, since it is far more accurate than the stock speedometer on the bike. I sometimes will also use it in the car when we are on a long trip.

I purchased the unit as a Christmas present for my wife. We live in a rural area so city driving often flusters her but after receiving it we made a trip to St Louis and instead of waking me outside the city she drove right downtown to where we were staying. For me that was the only test it needed, money well spent. She has found it easy to program and use. The only thing I would like to see added is a reroute shortcut so when you come up on heavy traffic you could just hit the button for a different route. We have used it numerous times already and wished we would have gotten one sooner. The display is fine just didn't think it rated excellent and the features only wanted for a reroute button. I would definately recommend it to anyone.
The Nuvi has already kept me from getting lost. We took a trip on the back roads of Nevada and ended up in Utah. The Nuvi guided us back home. Very easy to use with the touch screen and all the extra information on the screen. I also have a Garmin Street Pilot and have loved it. The Nuvi has a few more features and updates. I bought it because the price was right and I know I can depend on the Garmin name.
It works well, clear directions, boots up reasonably quickly. Mostly needs to be used plugged into the lighter socket with its cord, as the battery only lasts about half an hour unplugged, but that's not a big deal for me, Overall very good product and a great value.

Good, reliable product. This particular version had an old set of maps, but that was because I purchased it used. Reliable, the only other comment would be that it's initial start-up and load times are a little long.

This is a great GPS for the money. I bought my first one 5 years ago and the battery finally died and wouldn't take a charge and they're non replaceble. This was the replacement. I bought the same model I bought for my wife when she kept taking my old one. The lifetime traffic feature is a God send. It routes you around accidents and highway delays. It also finds short cuts to places you already know how to go to. We have two of these and move them to whatever of our vehicles we use. It's also great to take on a trip and use in a rental car. Very reliable piece of equipment. The LMT signifies lifetime map updates and traffic subscription. This is a must, as it would be expensive not to get this up front.
I love my Garmin nuvi 1300 LMT GPS. Although It is a little older it works great! Easy to read, easy to hear and it is very reliable. I did find out that you must use the rechargeable cord it comes with. I tried another Garmin nuvi cord and the unit would not function properly.

The device itself and the features are AWESOME. It contains everything you can possibly need while travelling. The only problem with this device is the touch screen. Lets just say if apple's touch screen is a 95/100 this one is 40/100. It takes time to get used to it. Everything else is just perfect.
Larger gps units are obviously easier to see, but my windshield is small, so the smaller gps unit doesn't block as much of the windshield a larger one would. This unit definitely has it's use.
