It's a replacement Camera for mine exactly like it that went dead. I don't know how long it will last. So far so good, that's all. Big Deal!

Great condition wise but extremely disappointed with the quality of the photos that it took. If the photos were the same as the preview before capturing the photo it would be a 5 star review. But since each photo it takes it does not come out clear and the only mode i can use this for video such a let down.

I love the touch screen aspect of the camera. It's very easy to use and doesn't take much getting used to when playing with it. On the camera the images come out grainy, but that doesn't bother me because it shows up fine on the computer. You can't expect perfect with a product that is so new and one of the firsts of it's kind. If the images didn't come out grainy on the camera it would be perfect. Great picture quality, & great features on the camera. If you are looking for a high quality point and shoot camera and a fun new gadget you can play with, this is the camera for you!
I used an old Fuji 4.1 megapixel Finepix for 5 years and grew pretty comfortable with it. When it finally pooped out on me, I wasn't sure what to get to take it's place. I started looking around for something that wasn't too pricey, was simple and fun to use and maybe even had a cute color to it. I wanted to be able to take pictures of kids who move around a lot, but it didn't have to be the most fancy camera in the world. Then voila, I found the plum colored Nikon Cool Pix with a case and battery charger for 60 bucks on ebay. I am in LOVE. Yeah, I know there are way better cameras out there, including the Nikon line, but when you just want something simple that will work well and take good pictures, this is perfect. It has a touch screen menu which is super cool, and its not too complicated for me. I take nice pictures of my always wriggling children, then easily upload them onto my computer. I got the cute color I wanted, and its compact so I just slip it in my purse and take it everywhere with me. The only thing I can think of in critisism is that sometimes your photos look a little grainy on the camera screen, but once printed or on the computer are clear. This camera is perfect for someone who wants value for not too much money.Read full review
this is a lightweight and compact camera. it takes good pictures and is perfect for the pocket, purse and a quick picture; i keep mine with me all the time. i especially like the ease which you can select the different types of lighting and picture scenes. you have to be extra careful, the touch screen is very cool and easy to work with, but very very easily scratched or cracked. make sure you have it in a good case.
My daughter (16) absolutely loves this camera. Bought it used, so it came without manual, but it was easy to figure out most functions right away. Ordered manual seperately from Nikon for $9. 180 pages! Lots of fun stuff you can do with the touch screen technology. Really like the big screen. Takes decent pics as far as I can tell. Haven't tried video yet, or all of the options frankly, but overall very happy with this camera. Compared to similarly priced digitals, this is a good one. A good value (especially since I got it for under $125 gently used!).
As far as simple piont and click digital cameras go, this is one of the supposed higher end ones. It has a touch screen menu system, and face detection. The photos come out grainy on the screen, but end up being crystal clear after uploading them to a computer or printing them out. The systems touch screen menu interface was simple enough for my 3 year old to understand, and it does come with a handy stylus to help those who don't want to add fingerprints to the screen. The lag time on some of the shooting modes is in need some, but over all quick, precise, and very handy little camera...
At first I was really excited to get my camera, thought it would take even better pictures then my Samsung (my Samsung took truly amazing pictures for a cheap one) but the pictures sucked. UNTIl I read the manual and realized it's a little more complex camera. Now my pictures are awesome after messing with the settings! The preview photos still look blurry but as soon as I upload them they look great. Kinda upsetting the preview is grainy, but oh well. Definitely got a bargain for $90 on this camera!
The family had a sony cybershot camera, but I wanted one of my own for a family vacation coming up. I wanted better quality pictures to look at when we got back. I love touch screens and the coolpix s230 caught my eye. I love it, it takes amazing pictures, the touch screen is great, it's slim/compact, nice color, and overall the perfect camera for me. The only thing I don't like is the noise/snow effect. The ISO is set to as low as it will go but I can still see the white fuzzies; the only reason I don't mind the fuzzies is because they don't appear on my pictures later when I go to look at them; my pictures are clear and crisp. The scene selections are great and the fireworks setting definitely helped for the 4th of July. Great buy, I would definitely recommend.
Bought this camera to test the photo quality of it, but found its additional features really amazing. Mostly the touchscreen's photo editing features are the ones that impress me the most. I let my 4 year old daughter play with it and after a couple of minutes, she was able to write her name each letter with different colors over her own picture and frame it decently. I guess by now you can imagine how easy is to edit taken pictures with this camera.Of course it's not a professional photo editor, but if you just want to sign a picture, write a note on it, this is the perfect camera to do so. As far as photo quality, if you pick the right scene mode for the environment you're in, the picture quality will be sharp clear with vivid colors.Quite realistic for a camera this small.
