Mini DSLR gives viewfinder option without extra weight
Pros: Semi-pro features, viewfinder allows sighting of subject in bright light situations, smaller size body means not having to lug around excess weight. Easy to use. Olympus EVOLT E-420 10.0 MP Digital SLR Camera
I am a Nikon man and have been for many years, having possessed over 20 Nikons. We dislike point and shoots due to their tiny sensors and inferior performance, but occasionally we need to have a lightweight camera if hiking or traveling light. We tried the Nikon 1 J1 and I had the Nikon 1 V1. One of us liked them but I did not as I felt it was too heavy and bulky for the size of sensor and I much prefer a SLR view than an EVF. The results were inadequate due to the sensor size. We once had an E-410 and enjoyed it's light weight and small size. (I have always liked Olympus as a good second to Nikon) The performance of the E-420 is outstanding in comparison to the Nikon 1 V1! The four thirds system performance is almost indistinguishable from APS-C. It's high ISO performance at 800 is adequate for our needs. The two digital lenses are tiny and have amazing resolution for their size. I find that I usually have the 40-150mm mounted and love the ability to have the equivalent to a 300mm lens. This combination weighs 630gms compared with my D5100 with its 55-200mm at 900 gms. The only weakness with this camera is it's flash performance in comparison to Nikon. I find that 90% of the time I reach for the diminutive E-420 instead of the Nikon and find 10Mp more than adequate for normal purposes Highly recommended!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

A nice DSLR camera for anyone.
