old camera but still very good
Sony DSC-V3 came out 14 years ago in 2004 - that's ancient in digital camera years. However, this camera has features that are no longer available today. Sony V3 takes infrared images - feature called "Night Shot" removing internal filter allowing to take infrared scenes. Also, in pitch black shooting - it has a laser projection patterns for aiding in focusing. This is also not available in any of today's cameras. I've read somewhere that Sony no longer use laser focus assist because it may be harmful when projected on people's eyes. But it is very effective at locking focus when the scene is extremely dark. 7.2 Mega Pixel may sound lame today but it is plenty for making large prints. Plus, it allows you to capture RAW images which was rare back in 2004 on a point and shoot compact. The design is clean with a rangefinder look - small and easy to take with you everywhere. This camera was one of the last to hit the market before Sony merged / bought Minolta. Its 2018 now but still an awesome compact.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
