Shadowhawk X800 more powerful and useful than a standard flashlight
Overall, very happy with this unit. The Shadowhawk X800 is far more powerful and useful than a standard flashlight - robust yet compact - light up the whole back yard or spotlight a smaller area. Keep it handy: What's the dog barking about? Also good for everyday use - finding items at the back of the cupboard or as an aid for failing eyesight. Comes with 1 x rechargeable battery. Recharger included = ongoing costs minimal. Includes an alternate battery capsule - 3 x AAA standard batteries. Battery capsule inserts into a clear plastic pipe sleeve first (for stability), then into the unit (haven't used this yet). The alternate AAA standard battery option makes this unit more portable. Pack some spare batteries and go - take it camping, fishing, hiking or walking at night. You could point it directly into that approaching dingo's eyes, but do so only as a last resort. It will damage eyesight, and Dingo's can't afford glasses. Even if they could, a four-eyed dingo would become an outcast from his pack. Unlikely to be as effective on snakes - unless of course, they're eyeballing you - in which case, give it your best shot. Not to be used on 'Ozzie drop bears' (koalas) under any circumstances. Also includes a carry pouch with Velcro closure and belt clip (very handy for hiking, etc), and a bicycle bar fitting (not yet tried). The box itself is great for keeping/storing everything together. The strobing light feature (2 x strobe types) is supposed to be a personal safety feature (women walking at night, etc). While the strobe works, it isn't as responsive as it should be. If a women feels threatened, she should be able to change to the strobe light feature easily, quickly, confidently, and consistently. This unit does not meet that need. To strobe; turn the torch on, then lightly/half depress the same button to alternate between static and strobe light - BUT - it's too easy to depress the button too hard, which turns the unit off (the opposite of what's needed for personal safety). For personal safety, it'd be safer to just point the static light into someone eyes rather than risk turning the torch off. Though it's sufficiently robust to hit someone with, maintaining a safe distance is the better option. The torch does get quite warm within the first 10 minutes of use and stays at that temperature. The handle is cooler than the lit end. Both remain comfortable to hold while warm (based on continuous 30 minutes of use). After 30 minutes use, the unit cools within 5 minutes. It's unlikely to present a fire risk but while warm, should not be placed on or near anything flammable, and storage should be delayed until it's cooled down.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great all round torch, especially for its size.
I am very happy with the product, and being an electrician, it will do the job that I expected it to do. I noticed that you have a number of torches that are rated in lumens, and this product advertised at 90000lument. This cannot be the case, and I knew it wouldn't be the case before I bought it. Be careful that you don't get someone yelling "false advertising". Find out how many lumens it actually is and advertise it correctly. Fantastic torch, various options, check pack to make sure you get what you need.
Very pleased with the torch, great light, excellent value for money. It's sold in a variety of configurations, cheapest is just the torch, no batteries or recharger, a pack including a bike clip but no 12V car charger, or a pack including mains voltage/USB/12V car charger or option 3 x AAA batteries. The "touch" function on the variable light intensities and flashing is a bit fiddly, but most people won't need it anyway. Safer at work
I am so impressed with this torch. I can see the darkest areas at night in full and it’s just like daytime. This makes me feel safer at work. The battery lasted all week and I still didn’t need to recharge it but I did anyway just in case. I bought 2 more, 1 will stay at work and the other one for my hubby THANKYOU for helping me to feel safer at work.
