"This trigger pull gauge arrived quickly and I used it on three different rifles to set the weight on the triggers in a mat of a few way. As more pressure is exerted against the trigger pull finger, the sliding indicator will move towards the heavier side of the scale; once the disconnector disengages the sear the sliding indicator will remain at the point at which the highest amount of pressure was exerted on the trigger finger.

    Good product

Great trigger scale for the money. Let's you know your approximate pull I checked my scale with my friends and there was about a quarter pound difference in the two. These are great for trying to lower trigger pull or just checking out your weight on your rifles but if you have to be specific and know exactly what your pull weight is I would spend more money and get a digital one

    limited usage trigger pull gauge

The Wheeler trigger pull gauge is at a lower price than the digital ones out there...If I had known how limited this gauge was, I would have sent the money for a useful one. This gauge has a STICKER on it with the pounds in increments to read the weight. It varies around a pound each time you use it...on the same trigger. You cannot use it on ANY revolver or any high quality Sig or HK DA/SA handgun for a double action pull. poo

  • Good value budget scale.

Overall this is a good value for a basic trigger scale. It does what I need it to do without breaking the bank. Bear in mind that it only goes up to 8 lbs, and is not ultra-precise. It can be tricky to get the bar in the right spot on the trigger... it needs to be about mid way down the lower half of the trigger to get a proper reading... so make sure and meter 4-5 times to get an average. Also, the gauge scale is a plastic sticker, and mine was already peeling off a little when I opened it... not a huge deal as it does not effect the reading, but is reflective of this being a budget scale. Either way, if you want a scale that is "good enough", this will do.

  • Not a super quality tool but seems to get the job done accurately enough.

Having only limited time using this gauge, it so far seems like a descent product to me. I cannot comment about the most important feature since as of yet I have not had the readings verified utilizing another device. I can tell you that with my many years of shooting all sorts of firearms and knowing the trigger pull weights on some to those firearms having had them checked by Gunsmiths that this is at least in the ballpark (+- a pound). Besides that, is seems built well enough and is most certainly simple to use. I have no reservations recommending this gauge to others.

  • Nice economical tool

I'd give it five stars except the scale does not go heavy enough to measure trigger pull on many double-action triggers. So, I measure the pull weight to the "wall" then hold the trigger, reset the scale to zero, and measure the break weight. That's not a perfect procedure but accurate enough for what I need for DA trigger work. If I was a gunsmith I'd want a better scale, but ok for a hobbyist.

  • You pay $20 because it's a trigger scale

There are other scales out there that do the same thing much cheaper. You pay more for this because it is marketed as a dedicated trigger scale. Kitchen scales, fish scales, postal scales. On the flip side you could use this to weigh your food, fish or package. All you need is a scale that records the highest weight per incident. On this one it's that little yellow plastic tab below the yellow label/ruler in the picture. IT is showing 1/2 lbs pull. It only goes up to 8 lbs so it wont work on a double action revolver in double mode.

  • Wheeler scale works great

This trigger pull scale is just right and not expensive. It's simple to use, you don't have study a manual just to use it. It's accurate enough. You want to know if the trigger pull is 6 pounds or 6 1/4. You don't need to know the pull is 6 pounds 2.1 oz. Just what part of the trigger you test at makes ounces of difference in the reading. Reading to 0.1 ounces is useless. This gauge is many times faster to use than a digital scale, no pushing buttons and waiting for a reading. I'm happy I bought this one.

  • Good value scale

Measured an improved trigger from 6.3 to 5.4 lbs. Take care where on the trigger you pull. The lower on the shoe, the less weight. Also pull straight back, and not back and down. Not real easy to use, but does produce repeatable results.

  • Works great, easy to use, good value.

Everything I expected. Easy to read to 2 ounces and not bad to interpret to 1 oz. Easy to use. Would have given a 5 star except does not go above 8 pounds needed for "double action" and some semi-auto triggers.

  • Accurate enuf to determine range of trigger pull.

Not high tech but absolutely worth the money to get a read on the trigger pull of any gun. This has supported my suspicions of really hefty trigger pull and the need to reduce the range of action for better accuracy. Worth the chips for the tests.
