Lot of fun AND educational
I wanted a guitar based game, so I tried it out not expecting anything special. I couldn't have been more wrong. It's so much fun. I've played guitar for over forty years and though I don't feel like I am learning anything from playing the game, I can see how someone new to playing guitar could surely benefit greatly from it. I would recommend this to someone who is serious about wanting to learn. The initial stages are kind of boring for those who already know how to pick or can find notes on the neck. Newcomers to guitar or bass (this version needed a $10 addon for bass), will welcome the slow pace and have a great feeling of accomplishment when they complete a song. The only gripe is that tacking on this game is greatly improved if the audio is sent directly to a receiver instead of through the TV's HDMI port. Great fun and you do actually learn. Get the 2014 version. You can download the original Rocksmith song list through the store for ten bucks and it updates all the songs from the original.
