NotesThe Polydor albums of Swedish guitarist and songwriter Yngwie Malmsteen are collected in a new four-CD box set titled Now Your Ships Are Burned, due for release in February. Studio long-players Rising Force (1984), Marching Out (1985), Trilogy (1986), Odyssey (1988) and Eclipse (1990) are all included, along with the 1989 live album Trial By Fire: Live in Leningrad. Each CD contains (approximately) two albums and all the music has been newly remastered for this release by Andy Pearce. The booklet comes with an essay by Malcolm Dome as well as full album credits for each record.

  • Got a lot of music

It is great for the price but I was expecting since it is digitally remastered that it sound better than it does. It is better than the original but compared to a lot of other remastered CD's I've bought it is not as good. Overall I am happy with it.

  • Comprehensive collection of some of the guitar virtuoso's best loved work!

This budget priced collection includes Yngwie's 1st 6 solo albums (5 studio and 1 live) plus the two live tracks from the Studio/Live '85 EP. I owned the 1st four albums and the EP on vinyl back in the day so this compilation was an excellent opportunity to restore those recordings to my collection. The passing of time has been very kind to these as Rising Force and Odyssey were better than I remembered, and Live In Leningrad is fantastic! I bought this mainly for the chance to replace the two live EP tracks because they're unavailable elsewhere. I'd already replaced my copies of Marching Out and Trilogy which are probably my 2 favorite Malmsteen albums. I highly recommend this if you like Yngwie. A big thanks to Polydor for releasing this complete with the live EP tracks and hopefully similar releases can cover the remainder of Yngwie's catalog.
