    Tried and true Berkley Trilene XL

    I have fished with Berkley Mono line for many years. I've tried the new braid lines but always to back to Berkley Mono. I don't like Mono because of the memory especially if it's cold but I really don't like the way braid twists and bird nests either. So again, if something works, stop waisting money on new product that may or may not prove satisfactory.

    Some Time Cheaper Is Better.

    Have used this line for years with good results. Have tried pretty expensive line that had so much memory it was just a birdsnest, always come back to Trilene XL Could have gotten it a little cheaper at Wal Mart, but considering I never had to leave the house I got a good value.

    Best monofilament line available for the money

    I've almost always used Trilene line and occasionally Strene mono. when Triene isn't available. This new Trilene line is even smaller diameter with extra strength than the old style. And it even seems to have less problems with memory causing line twists. The line seems to be more limber that before. I've loaded 12 lb test on an open faced reel that I always used 8 lb test on and I can hardly tell the difference in casting ability. I like to go with the low vis green line for all water conditions because I can see it better above the water line and it almost disappears below.
