Yes it's plastic and not metal and leather as an original or copy. But as with the ones I bought. I added a fake leather liner and added detail to the rosettes ( gold plates on the side where the chin straps attach ). With or without my add-0ns it's a very close copy. Well made and durable. And even close up as-is it's a great copy!!!!!! A good filler even for the average helmet collector as it is well made and durable. I intend to buy more and with a better chin strap added it could pass in appearance and wear as an original. Good luck buy one I don't think you will regret it. TMS -Waukegan, Il.

Dis is da hat dat is wunderbar. It's a lightweight, medium-grade plastic, with a thin bit of cushioning... a level above the average Halloween costume stuff. The styling is excellent. The top point is in a separate bag and will need to be screwed into the socket on the helmet. As you can see in the photo, it comes off looking pretty realistic. Since it was also the least expensive retailer, I really feel good about recommending them on this one. Happy Marching!

For what it is worth it is the best low cost representation of a WWI Germna Pickelhaub, hands down. This goes to show that with just a little effort realistic replicas can be made that are cost effective. We use these at our flying field when we do demonstrations of radio control WWI German biplanes for the guest audience. It adds a little humour to the occasion.

It is made of plastic. A cheap way to get a Pickelhaub Helmet. Looks like the real thing from a distance.
