A (albeit, slightly) improved version of the original Dreamcast version, with a new feature that syncs with the GameBoy Advance, if you still own one. Most people nowadays no longer own a Sega Dreamcast (myself included) and still would like to own this now classic game, and since many folks still own a Nintendo Wii (which is backwards compatible with Gamecube games) it only makes sense to own the Directors Cut edition. I do wish the game developers would’ve addressed a few issues with the camera angles and glitches that interfere with gameplay at times, but overall is still an improvement from the original. The graphics are improved, but only by a small margin. Still worth the money. Great game that is a must own for any real STH fan.

I bought this item and enjoyed it quite a bit! The only issue I have with this product is that the game will crash at the credits for no reason whatsoever.

I would have to say out of all the 3D Sonic games I've played, this has to be hit. The game is amazingly great, as I got it for a great price. Sega was right in porting the game over from the Sega Dreamcast over to the more supported Nintendo GameCube. Because of this, the graphics were made even better, making gameplay even better. This is a recommended game for all. However, I did find the dialouge or voices in the game a little too "childish" for my taste. I ended up quickly going to the Game Settings screen to disable the voices for the game. It was also interesting being able to hear it in Japanese. :) Yes, the game is geared for "Everybody" according to the ESRB, but they could have either taken the dialouge all together, or put more feeling into telling the story. Nevertheless, I encourage any Sonic fan to try this game out. I thought only the Sega Genesis games were the best, but this game proved me wrong. .:[+r0y]:.Read full review
I bought this for my son,he is six. He really likes it!We love Sonic. It was a little Hard for him at first, but he was able to get through some levels. My son is still learning to read so I have to read alot of it to him, which is why I only rated it Good. Probably excellent for a seven or Eight year old. Story line ad instructions easy to follow.Mild Violence, less than any child probably sees on Cartoon Network. I do recommend game cube games for younger children, skill level and difficulty seems lower than more complicated PS3. Controller is easy to handle. Love that it's Wii Compatable!
This remake of Sonic Adventure for the Nintendo GameCube is by all means a fantastic game. It may be a bit on the older side now, but it has aged very well, in my opinion. The graphics, while not as advanced as we have now, were very good for their time, but that doesn't mean they are bad. The gameplay plays generally the same way as any 3D Sonic game today, so it will be easy to pick up and play if you have experienced those. The controls are easy to learn, so that aspect shouldn't be a problem. With six different characters to play as, you will get hours of fun from this game. And that's not to mention the "Trial" mode, "Mission" mode, and all the others. Overall, while it may be about 13 years old, it is a definitely a great buy for anyone with a GameCube or a Wii (the Wii can play GameCube games). It still provides the same fast-paced action of any other Sonic game. If you like Sonic, or want to try out a Sonic game if you haven't already, this is a great game to get. Read full review

Although an older title, Sonic Adventure DX is an excellent remake for its time and has aged well. The gameplay is more adventure based than expected but still retains the nostalgic super-speed-run levels to accompany them. In addition, one gets to play as 6 different characters each with their individual abilities. The levels are huge and highly detailed, and the adventure fields are fun and easier to navigate than they seem. Overall, the game is worth playing and recommended for anyone who likes Sonic, GameCube or super speed action games

This game is lots of fun to play. It's really amazing to see another company was on nintendo's level of making an open world adventure game, back in 1998. The graphics are ahead of their time, and although the facial animation is totally clunky, it kind of adds to it's charm. After all, you can't expect it to be visually amazing, knowing when it was made. But the environments are great and the gameplay is sooo fluid it's actually crazy. With such good controls it makes you even forget that it's an older game, and it's super enjoyable.

It's a good game the only story I didn't like going through was Big the cat. The only other problems are the camera hasn't aged well, voice direction could of been better but they fixed in later sonic games, and the animation in the cut scenes can be weird. Overall I enjoyed sonic adventure

Whats good is in sonic adventure dx it have five playable characters because this allows you to play different styles of play. I'm going to list the bad things first note I've never completed this game, but here's some of my issues with the game. I don't like Big's gameplay style being a fishing mini game when playing as Big i've never understood his fishing mechanic and game play in general. Ex. he cast a lure to try to capture his friend Froggy, but if the fishng pole line breaks you fail. That's the only game play style i hated and never understood how it works. Also, this game have a bad camera that could get stuck behind a wall sometimes when playing, but this really just descent. Sonic and tails is my favorite gameplay style in this game. Sonic fast pace game play and tails is a bit similar, but he can fly allowing you to take shortcuts that sonic can't and he's really fun to play. Knuckles stages i think are way better in this than they are in sa2b,because in this the radar tracks all chaos emerald all at one time. In sa2b the radar only tracks one at a time. Amy's gameplay is quite fun. I just dislike the part when the robot is chasing you around you can't defeat until later in a boss fight.Read full review

I purchased this game for my 11 year old daughter because she wanted to play the Sonic game with the chaos.(sp) I was hoping it wasn't going to be a waste of my money and end up getting traded in for a fraction of what I paid because she is just getting into video games. I was presently surprised, and this is money well spent. She loves the game and plays it often. I love the fact that it is kid friendly and fun. It is hard to find games that she enjoys and that I am willing to allow her to play at her age. Most of the children's games are way below her level and alot of the teen games have content I feel inappropriate for her age. We got the best of both worlds with this game and are both very happy. There are tons of mini games and it has kept her interest for months as one of her favorites that she plays at least twice a week. That may not sound like alot, but for an 11 year old who is only allowed to play a few hours a week after all other chores, schoolwork, and family errands are done it is. She rarely ever played the same game twice in a week until this one. The only down side was not with the game, but with the fact that I didn't have enough knowledge when I purchased it. She has a Wii, which I was told could play game cube games. This is true, but for any unfamiliar mommies out there I want to include this special note: you have to purchase a special control and a memory card to play game cube games on a Wii game system. These items combined total about $40.00-$50.00 depending where purchased. However, you only have to purchase them once and then you can play any game cube games on your Wii, and since they no longer make the gamecube, you can get games for that system really cheap. Hope this information was helpful and Happy gaming!!!!Read full review
