The Sigma 28 mm - 70 mm f/2.8-f/4.0 zoom lens is a lightweight and portable lens that can be used for wide-angle and telephoto shots, making it a good choice for general photography and on-location work. This Sigma zoom lens weighs just 8.6 ounces and is only 2.4 inches in length. Featuring two-touch focus control, this high-speed zoom lens is optimized for shooting at close range with both traditional and digital SLR cameras, with a minimum focus distance of 19 inches. As a result, the Sigma 28 mm - 70 mm f/2.8-f/4.0 removes the need for photographers to carry multiple lenses to a shoot for most types of photography. This Sigma zoom lens is constructed with 11 elements in eight groups, including an aspherical lens that works to minimize distortion. In addition, the Sigma 28 mm - 70 mm f/2.8-f/4.0 high-speed zoom lens is multi-coated, minimizing chromatic aberration, lens flare, and ghost effects. This results in more accurate color reproduction and sharper contrasts, as well as virtually negating internal reflections.
