This lens is nearly flawless, with the only imperfection a very small nick in the rear element. It is only visible in specific rear light and thus does not have an effect on images. There are no other nicks or scratches, no internal dust, no element separation, no coating wear, and no other loss of labels or signs of wear on the markings. I have shot this lens on a Canon A-1 and a Canon R10. Although it can technically be adapted to EF and RF, I did try it and wouldn't recommend it. It's a fantastic lens on FD though.

Constructed with eight elements in six groups and with radioactive thorium oxide glass, the Canon 55 mm F/1.2 lens renders excellent quality images. With a 55 mm focal length and 0.6 m closest focusing distance, this Canon lens lets you capture the minutest details. This camera lens features f/16 aperture, which offers optimum light transmission for perfect illumination in the images. The 58 mm filter of this Canon lens protects the lens from moisture, dust, and scrapes. Featuring an eight bladed diaphragm, this camera lens optimally focuses on the subject, rendering an excellent background blur. For added protection, the Canon 55 mm F/1.2 also features a BS-58 lens hood.

I have played a little with the Canon FD 55 F1.2 on my Sony. I was surprised the level of sharpness I could get with it. I have only used it at F1.2 so far and thats pretty much what I bought the lens for, Of course at that aperture it has a beautiful bokeh. I found mine priced reasonably and a good investment, or at least that's what I tell my wife.
