These are not Canon genuine. The two batteries have different capacities.(1200mAh&1800mAh) The charger had no control base. These can still be charged and used normally. It is 3 stars because it could be used normally. I don't think it is made in Japan. I'm Japanese, so I understand strange Japanese.

The Genuine Canon Batteries can be charged more cycles, last long video-wise and picture-wise,and my 70D and 80D show them to be GENUINE LP-E6N Batteries. The LCD also shows how much charge left and how many pics taken with the battery. And lastly; I do not have to worry if the battery is dependable or if the battery will damage my camera. I know there are many opinions about non-oem batteries, their dependability, and if they or any battery might damage your camera body. However;being that my 70D and 80D were expensive DSLR's; I have peace of mind knowing I am using OEM Batteries. And anyone using non-oem batteries and it is working fine for them;I also say great and I am glad all is well for them.

I won't buy and aftermarket battery. Canon makes some of the longest lasting ones in the business. I have only had one issue with a battery and believe it may have been gray market. This battery holds a charge well and has never let me down during a shoot. Fast and easy charging.

This battery was perfect for my Canon EOS 70D camera, for which it is designed. The battery charged to 100% as indicated by the camera and was recognized as a registrable Canon battery for the camera. I would thoroughly recommend this GENUINE product if you want to avoid any potential problems with the electronics of your camera. If you are going to buy a spare or extra battery for your Canon camera, make sure it is the correct one for the model. There are good reasons for ensuring that you buy the manufacturers own product. Most of the other "for" Canon products are not rated at the same voltage or mAh and these factors make a difference to the life of the electronics of the camera.
