As the owner of a Canon EOS digital rebel, I would not use anything but a Canon supplementary lens. I purchased this lens because of its compact size and its relative light weight. Like all Canon products it is top quality and in my opinion is second to none, giving first class results every time. As I only use Canon photographic products I cannot vouch for the quality of any other brand.
Originally purchased this lens to do macro photography but have found to to be a great all-round lens. The fast apeture gives great depth of field and the images produced are extremely crisp, beating anything else in its price range for clarity. If you are still using the lenses from you original camera kit purchase you will be amazed at the quality your camera body is capable of.
