About this product

Product Information

A highly practical medium telephoto lens with superb delineation and portability. Images are sharp and clear at all apertures. Through computer simulations, the lens has been designed to give beautiful background blur. Since the front lens group does not rotate during focusing, special filter effects are not affected.

    A good budget lens and a must have in your lens kit.

    An canon 85mm f1.8 prime is good lens to own, giving tighter shots than a 50mm and also a bit of distance from the subject so the flash lighting is not harsh and the overall perspective is flat rather than the exaggerated look of a wide angle lens. The blurring of backgrounds is pretty good but not in the league of todays 200-300mm zooms, which are cheap and plentiful, however this is a prime lens and it does have an element of image quality of the zoom.

    Im overall happy with it since i bought it second hand. Only thing wrong with it was the focus ring is a bit dodgy to use manually. Its something i might need to look at getting fixed but for right now its manageable. Just makes things a lot slower. Delivery was fast though so thats a plus

    So happy with my new lens!

    I own a Canon 16-35mm 4f lens and wanted a nice fixed lens for portraits. My first thought was a 50mm 1.4 but after making a big research, I decided to go for this one. I collected it today from the Post Office and I just feel I made the best decision. It's such a good lens, very sharp, focus very fast even in darkness and is not heavy! Which was one of my concerns because in the pictures looks bigger and I wanted it for traveling.
