Wonderful children's picture book with engaging, playful, rhyming words and cute illustrations
This is a 'must-have', charming, children's picture book, early reader and the book which will still make you smile as your children grow up.
.
Blossom Possum is startled when somethings falls on her head and feels she must warn the Prime Minister, embarking on her journey, making friends along the way and (spoiler alert) avoiding By-Jingo Lingos's trap.
Playful words and rhyming bring each character to life, for example, Joanna Goanna cries "Well. I'll be a lizard's gizzard! That could be dangerous. I have a first aid certificate. I'd better come along too". Our family's favourite character is Echo Gecko and we love trying to impersonate him as he says "Peace possum party people, party people! Whats the trip for, trip for?" before joining the "emergency conga-line" with his "bush buddies"!
The book engages everyone, with children encouraged to join in by a repetitive chorus of how the animals, trot, strut, march, bounce, shuffle and dance "off down the track, round the back of beyond, up the hill..."
Adorable illustrations of native animals and Australian landscapes help bring the endearing story to life.
Anyone who enjoys the "Going on a bear hunt" will surely love this.
