As You Like It is a celebration of life and love. Rosalind, Orlando and the banished Duke take refuge in the Forest of Arden after a political coup at court. The Forest gives them the freedom to be themselves and to say what they think, as they could not at Duke Frederick's tyrannical court. Rosalind's male disguise liberates both her and Orlando to express their love through wooing games, and their journeys lead to self-knowledge, harmony and marriage. A celebrated comedy of wit and humour, As You Like It is presented here in a performing edition, originally prepared for the Peter Hall Company production at the Theatre Royal Bath, the new Rose of Kingston, and on tour.
