Image quality is very good. Seems to be sharp and clear at all apertures. Can focus close to 20cm so it's useful to get fairly close up pictures without having to use a different lens. It's quite a bit heavier and fatter than the other pancake I've got, the 14mm, but it's the same length, and it produces sharper pictures. Overall I've happy with this lens; it's a good companion to my small GF2 and makes it a nice portable camera to carry anywhere.

This has got to be the very next thing you buy after the four thirds camera body. Durable, small, light, sharp as a pin and f1.7. What else is there to say?

Super compact lens, very sharp and contrasty, great results from wide open. Focal length gives *slightly* wide view.

Well it does if you have a largish pocket. On a Lumix body this makes a good option for a day out to capture landscapes and general scenes. The average and somewhat above average photography will find this a great lens in the right situation.

What a superb lens ! great for portrait work with a nice 'bright' apature to allow plenty of bokeh in photographs. As it is a Micro 4/3rds lens it works with both Panasonic Lumix G series and also Olympus CSC cameras so it give another lens choice for owners of these systems.
Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 II lens is always on my Olympus E-PM1 as it makes a small combo that can always be in my jacket's pocket, or in my cargo pants. It's really sharp, even at f/1.7, and absolutely great in low light situations. Focus is slower and noisier than Olympus M.ZUIKO 14-54 f/3.5-5.6 II R kit lens, so that could be a problem if you shoot video. But otherwise, it's a must have for Micro Four Thirds system.
Bought the 20mm to go with my Olympus PEN. kkeeping it short, what does this lens offer you above a standard lens? F1.7 makes low light and sharp depth of field much better, the small profile means it will fit in your jacket pocket, and the images are all sharp and clear.
Great lens, tack sharp, but if your on a gh5 and want AF and use of the focus transition tool, this lens isn't for you

I had been intending to buy one of these lenses for a long time. It is a truly brilliant lens. Unobtrusive, compact but also pin sharp and superb performance in low light. Perhaps the best lens available for street photography; it allows you to get really close to the subject.
Have used this for astrophotography--mostly--and couldn't be happier.
