It does what you think it does but it doesn't just shorten your shifts.
Ford escort 1997 Pretty easy to install however I'd recommend getting new shifter bushings. My only problem with it is that it does shorten the height of the shifter knob itself. Got a 3 inch extender and used the knob it came with but planning to drill the OEM knob to allow proper fitment.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I installed this on my escort and WOW it shortens the shifts up quite a bit! I’d recommend getting new shifter bushings as this DOESNT come with new ones. Mine rattled at higher RPMs but that’s probably because I re used the older bushings.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Original, simple design style.
I installed it in my Zetec'd '98 Escort Wagon. Simple design, solid feel. The install was definitely a bolt-in process. I recommend greasing the ballcup before installing.
