Extendable pole saw/parrots beak combination pruner.
Like all "dual-purpose" garden equipment this item has a few inherent faults.
Taking off the saw blade permanently will make beak-pruning easier in denser vegetation. [Maybe make or buy a dedicated pole-saw, this is far easier to use than being constantly hooked-up by the protruding saw-blade, if fitted.]
Pull-effort is lessened by around 35% by the pulley/slider advantage system ( *see below for the main disadvantage).
The pole slider-twist adjstment works, but any adverse cutting/maneuvering torque can loosen it - this can be dangerous unless dead tight and the cutting action is rotated to the correct locked side.
The cord can be hanked around the grooved toggle for any length desived, remembering always on this system, a fairly long pull is needed due to the inherent mechanican advantages of pullleys etc., - as mentioned above *.
The protruding chromed spring (a more expensive flat spring directly on the spindle would be far better) can also cause veg hang-ups; a cover made of split tubing (garden hose etc) with x3 small zip-ties recommended to stop this and also hasen blade-closure after the cut is made.
OVERALL: Recommended for garden hobby-ists for the lighter type of jobs needing an adjustable reach.
[Good packing and very quick freight from this supplier.]
