Centaurus diesel tank review
I bought this tank to carry spare diesel in the back of my twincab on a trip through central Australia. I filled it prior to leaving. Diesel sprayed out of the cap breather on the 5 k trip home. Removed the breather and fitted a different breather. After first 5 hours travelling there was diesel all over the ute side and caravan. This time out of the cap. It doesnt seal so had to apply copious threadtape. Next the pump suction line had to be tightened. It is now only just over a week old. Probably lost 5 lts diesel. Front and side of van is still being covered in diesel spray. Side and rear of ute tray is covered in diesel spray. It has not had more than the 100 lt level in it. Diesel makes a mess and attracts dust. It would appear that these tanks cannot be successfully sealed. If you dont mind the mess, it is convenient to carry and pump the diesel.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Breather design fault. Otherwise ok.
The breather in the cap leaks large amounts of diesel while traveling. Seems to be common with this model. I would not recommend this product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good cost effective auxiliary tank.
Excellent tank and pump / nozzle work as well as at servo. Installed in my American pickup at a fraction of the cost of an imported aftermarket tank. Easy to install with bonus it can transfer to another vehicle easily.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great tank for extending range or filling up equipment.
drove from Victoria to WA. while in WA I had it full to the brim and it never leaked. I drove along hundreds of kilometres of corrugated roads and it never leaked. I lubricated the top seal with lanolin before i tightened it. It saved me from paying $3.20 for Diesel across the Nullarbor.
