Fun but inessential concert recording from 1977
Eric Faulkner's guitar and Les McKeown's vocals take centre stage here, with Woody and Derek Longmuir on bass and drums respectively - Alan having been sacked. Rollerworld was recorded in Japan in 1977, where Rollermania continued long after the band's UK and US pomp.
None of the big hits are here. "It's a Game" the last memorable single by the Rollers, opens proceedings, and it's the older songs ("Saturday Night", "Money Honey", "Wouldn't You Like It" and "I Only Wanna Be with You") which come across best.
The fan hysteria comes through loud and clear and, as a snapshot, of a Rollers audience completely overcome, it's interesting and worth a listen however, despite having read some good reviews, it's fun but completely inessential.
