Most importantly - Pandigital has gone Ch. 11 and is in receivership which means "good luck" on support, warranty - get in line and hope - and repair parts. With that said - with some good soldering skills, and vision, repairs are simplified by the easy access to the components. A very nice entry level product for basic productivity, e-learning and web access. Not an iPad, but not at that price point either. Some miss the most fundamental question when buying technology - It's Not the How, but the What that comes first. In other words (and bad English), what will one be using it for?? At a point, its not the hyped technology, but the functionality (used for) that counts - especially when looking for cost effective alternatives. A solid "Goody."
Pros: nice size, good battery life, easy to use, Cons: screen could be brighter, limited access to apps(no google android store)some setup routine is confusing. if you are somewhat experienced with android systems and apps, a good device. a first time user could be put off by it.
I bought this tablet to read books, check social media and email, and for light surfing. So far, all three reasons are being met admirably. The size of the screen and clarity are very good. The capacitive touch screen is very responsive and precise. Except for the fact that I was using the wrong access code for my router, the wifi set up very quickly. I have been able to go to my Facebook and Gmail sites and use them like a regular computer. The virtual keyboard is easy to use and the gravity screen display is very quick. The 8" screen is so much nicer than the 7" device we have without being too large and difficult to hold. I don't expect to throw away my pc or laptop, but this fills a niche as well as I had hoped it would.
Okay, I LOVE PanDigital products, & am not happy they were forced out of business. That being said.... Their SuperNova and Nova tablets are actually what I like to call "Multimedia eReaders" and are wonderful to read on and manipulate. NOTE: If you are looking for a full blown TABLET or an IPAD, then go buy a FULL BLOWN TABLET or an IPAD! These are 'multimedia ereaders'!!! The Barnes & Noble version is my favorite, and the easiest to work with. I have Netflix, Amazon Market, Kindle App, Skype, Dropbox, Dropbox Downloader, Google Play Services, Plants Vs Zombies, Temple Run, & lots of other games on mine and I'm very happy with it. [note that you have to find the apk files for the version supported in the 2.3 Gingerbread environment, but the WWW is a wonderful place to explore!] The Kindle and the DLX versions aren't as easily manipulated due to something in the memory allocation [no idea why as they seem identical], but are still great toys, & I was able to get them to do what I wanted. :) [I have a few backups of both versions for when they are no longer available, as my nephews like to play with them when we are all visiting. :)] Another note, the OverDrive Media Console app connected to my favorite Libraries is great, and checking out/listening to Audiobooks is wonderful. The Bluetooth capability allows me to use my BT Headset, too. Keep in mind, I was unfortunate enough to get ONE lemon. Let's face it, it happens sometime, but as I had a Square Trade Warranty on it, I easily got my money back and reinvested it in 2 replacements. :D :D Bottom Line: If you want a nice Multimedia eReader to use for reading books from Kindle and B&N, playing games, checking email, light web surfing, viewing pictures, watching Netflix and having a great at a glance weather app... then this is great. I do recommend you invest in a 16 or 32gb Micro SD Card as a companion, too! Just don't buy it thinking it is a 'Tablet!'. I ABSOLUTELY recommend it! CynthiaRead full review
I bought it cause my husband has one and I like it because it was easy to operate. Just the right sizeand screen is very bright. The only thing I don't like is it is hard to view when the sun or bright day light make it difficult to view. Other than that I love it love it love it!!!!!!!!
