Product Information

Revolutionize your video calling experience with the Logitech HD C920. This webcam allows you to make 1080p high-definition video-chat calls at 30 frames per second. The 20-step autofocus of the Carl Zeiss lens helps you get the most from your live conversations and recordings. The one-click upload button lets you upload to YouTube easily, while the full HD recording makes it possible for each recording to look stunning. This Logitech webcam also captures 15MP still photos so that you can get high-quality pictures even in low light. The built-in dual stereo mics have automatic noise reduction for crystal-clear conversations. The C920 webcam takes clear, sharp videos and images with state-of-the-art components. Zeiss has engineered an advanced, lightweight, compact lens for superior images in a small device. Even in low-light scenarios, this Carl Zeiss lens captures bright, clear, detailed images that look natural and not processed. No matter where you move, the 20-step autofocus and wide 78-degree field of view will capture it all. Logitech Fluid Crystal Technology keeps everything smooth while avoiding choppiness, and H.264 HW encoding allows for fast processing. The 1920px x 1080px high-definition video looks incredible on Skype. Forget having to rely on the integrated webcams in laptops and desktop monitors with the C920. A mic on each side of the lens allows you to record stereo audio. It’s great for online Skype calls, web conferencing, live streaming, and photo capturing. Upload quality content fast to sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. The camera’s body has a clip with rubberized bumpers that will help it hold on to most desktop and laptop monitors. When you need to film from a different angle, it can easily be mounted to a tripod. The long six-foot USB cable allows for lots of room to move depending on what you need to use the device for. The LED lights on both sides of the lens indicate if the camera is installed and ready to capture or record. The accompanying software, Logitech Vid HD, can be used to operate the camera and adjust common settings. It’s compatible with Windows 7, 8, and 10 and is also compatible with Windows updates. The cam also supports FaceTime for Mac at 720p. The interface allows you to zoom, pan left or right, adjust color and brightness settings, and utilize security cam features like motion detection. There’s also a library of backgrounds, masks, and effects for added fun when you chat with friends or family. There are many options in the software to control and customize your webcam experience.

Good video and audio quality for up close stuff. Not meant for recording stage shows. Live Stream is fairly simple.

This is a great webcam for video blogs, close up how-to's, one on one conversations, things that are within 5 feet. When you are closer, the audio is good, just be sure to turn off your speakers or you'll get feedback. I did a live stream to YouTube using a laptop and the camera only (with wifi). I used the controller portion of the software that came with the camera to control the camera's zoom, pan and focus features (you can only use the Logitech Webcam Controller (not the software) when live streaming - otherwise, the camera has no image and says it is being used by another program). I also used XSplit Broadcaster for the encoding software. It was free and is very user friendly. I used it to record and live stream an on-stage question and answer session from the front row of the auditorium. After a while, the auto focus didn't like to zoom in and stay focused (a little blurry). The audio really had problems and after the first hour began to get feedback. I was disappointed with the application of the webcam for this purpose. The final outcome was not very good. Pros - very nice for up close recording and live streaming; with the right software, live streaming is easy. Cons - not for longer distance recordings as the sound is weak and there are focusing problems.

Inflexible with respect to H.264 format.

I got it because cheaper Web cams were giving me motion blur. The problem is that they send uncompressed video over USB 2.0, and that won't cut it. However, with the H.264 encoding which this camera can do on the device side, it is possible to send very high quality video over USB 2.0. Unfortunately, the only formats the camera supports in H.264 mode are 1080p and 720p. Since I did not need widescreen but could use a higher frame rate, I was hoping I could get a higher frame rate with 920x720. No dice. You can get a wide variety of other formats using it in Motion JPEG mode, but then you are stuck with the limitations of USB 2.0 throughput. I have communicated with the Logitech support folks, and apparently Logitech is not interested in making it more flexible with respect to the formats it will encode with H.264. I will have to live with 720p at 30 frames per second.

  • Easy To Set Up, Great Image Quality

The Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920 is a great little webcam at a very competitive price. Easy set up and mounting it is simply unfolding it and placing it on your monitor. A chimpanzee could get this webcam up and running. The picture quality is excellent. The mic is plenty good enough for conversation, but it's not good enough for recording music or musical instruments, which unfortunately was why I bought it. Still would recommend it for any and all other uses for its quality, price and easy set-up.

  • Excellent Quality with One Minor Flaw

The C920 is about as high powered as a standard webcam from a standard company can possibly get; crisp 1080p, excellent focusing capabilities, and an overall good design. That being said, it has one all-too-common design feature which falls far short of its other capabilities; namely, the connection between the USB cord itself and the webcam at large; this connection point is secured poorly, and is quite prone to slowly degrading until the webcam experiences connection issues; eventually, it unfortunately has a tendency to quit working altogether. The webcam is thus unable to take much abuse; including any twisting of the cord, or any sudden jerky movements, which are more often accidental rather than purposeful. For those who require a more forgiving webcam, Logitech's C525 is probably a better choice; yes, it includes a less advanced focusing capability and the slightly below-par 720p, but its swiveling design significantly reduces the chance of disconnection.

  • Overall great camera for Skype, making YouTube videos, and more.

I bought this camera after reading several other reviews, and overall, it is absolutely wonderful! Exceptionally easy to set up, just plug it into a USB port, and it's ready to go. It is a true HD 1080p camera, and captures video at 30 fps. The image sensor gives crisp images, the color is accurate, and the flexible mounting options will make this camera perfect for videoconferencing, recording a message to loved ones, and making those YouTube videos. It is a great consumer grade camera all around. I can say hands-down, this is much better than the camera I was previously using from a competitor, with one exception. Many of the reviews I read mentioned the microphone wasn't all that great, and I have to agree. However, in my setup, and some other folks', I will be using a separate microphone for audio recording, so this isn't a big deal for higher quality recordings. It works just fine for Skype calls and the like, but I prefer a bit more directional sound capture for anything I'm recording. In all, I think this camera is great for many uses. For the average user, it is perfect. For the advanced user, it has some minor flaws, but still very usable.

  • Logitech C920 easy to set up and use. Good not great product.

It was great that the plug and play worked well. The image and sound work well. Of course its dependent on the other person's set up too. Overall, it works well. However its not great. Just pretty good quality sound and video.

  • Good picture, easy to use

Camera is easy to use and has a good picture. The microphone is passable, but not as good as a wired mic. That's the one negative, it doesn's have a port for a wired mic.

  • Fantastic web cam, easy to set-up and use, outstanding optics

This webcam is FANTASTIC!! I had one provided for me at work, and from personal experience and on-line reviews, purchased this item for my parents. They are seniors, not the most tech-savvy, and our weekly zoom calls with them had dim and foggy images from their nascent computer web cam. This item was delivered early for Father's Day (was one of the few of this model available during the COVID-19 pandemic). Dad was able to easily connect it and get it running. The video image and sound quality on our zoom family meetings are now like NIGHT and DAY!!! *Everyone* on the call has commented how excellent their video image is now: clear, sharp image; well-lit; colors true-to-life. My dad was even able to make settings adjustments easily using the installed desk-top icon access. Was totally worth the money!

  • Good One To Have For Desktop

I was able to do a direct side-by-side comparison between three Logitech webcams: the C920, C615, and C525. Here is what I found: Right away I noticed that the C920 was a superior product - as it should be, considering it is Logitech's flagship webcam at the moment. But my initial impression was that the extra features might not be worth the size and setup tradeoff. There are three things that the C920 does not have: 1) While all three models attach to your computer monitor in about the same way and all three can tilt up and down, only the C525 and C615 can turn side to side. In fact, they can turn around 360 degrees and more. The C920, however, has a threaded tripod mount, as does the C615. 2) The C920 lacks the excellent "fold-and-go" design of the other two models, which makes packing and travelling easy, while protecting the lenses. In contrast, the C920 is much larger and stationary. 3) The C615 comes with a shorter USB cable AND an extension for more versatility. The C920 - like the C525 - comes with only a full length cable (~6'). My wish for all three models is that they come with a detachable USB cable, which would make them all much more portable and easy to carry around, especially in this age when most people travel with at least one or two USB cables. But when I actually sat down to do some serious comparisons, I realized just how much more advanced the C920 is, most notably in its use of H.264 compression and its autofocus feature. H.264 is a standard being utilized more and more for video of all sorts, and it makes a huge difference here
