Your dreams may well come true with the Hyperkin RetroN 3 Launch Edition Gray gaming system. Compatible with game cartridges for the NES, SNES, and Genesis, this system allows gamers to revisit the games of their past and can also ignite a whole new generation of fans for these beloved games. This beefy home console combines all three systems into one device. At the top of the device are three cartridge slots, one for each system. Any licensed U.S. original game for the NES, Super Nintendo, and Sega Genesis will fit into the appropriate slot on the Hyperkin RetroN 3. In addition to playing U.S. games, the Hyperkin RetroN 3 also plays games from any region. Both Famicom and Super Famicom cartridges are fully supported on this device. For original Nintendo games, you just need to insert the game and start playing. For original Genesis games, you'll need to flick the switch from NTSC to NTSC-J to play a Japanese region title. Before inserting a title, you'll select the corresponding console using a dial on the front of the device. Afterward, just hit the power button, and you're ready to game. If you need to reset any title, you just hit the reset switch, which conveniently located on the lower-right of the device. The RetroN 3 plays your games perfectly, providing the same quality you'd find on the actual systems. This RetroN 3 system includes two, 2.4-Ghz wireless controllers, providing you with a strong connection to the system with a great range of up to 6 feet. These controllers will work across all three consoles. They feature a design similar to a Genesis six-button controller. The directional pad is sturdy, and the six buttons are easy to press. Also on this gamepad are Start and Select buttons, located in the middle of the gamepad. As a special bonus, the gamepad has a rapid-fire button for any NES titles. If you really want to go old school, the RetroN 3 also offers the ability to use controllers from the original, retro consoles.Product Identifiers

Good Investment!
I took a chance on buying this since I have never heard of it before. So, before purchasing I did some research which led to my final decision. The 3-in-1 concept of being able to play some of my favorite childhood games is just phenomenal. My only gripe with this would be the controllers. They are very generic and do not come close to what the original controllers were and felt like. They are rough and very hard to control, making it hard to do anything while playing. There were times where I could not tell if the wireless capability was failing or if the controller itself was stiff. I ended up having to purchase separate controllers for the respective consoles just to play my games. I purchased this for my grand children . They were so excited to be able to play some of the good ole games but I couldn't set it up on their newer televisions. As Long As You Use Your Own Controllers, It's Worth It.
The system is great, the controllers are crap. Like they are worse than the AT Games Genesis controllers. Thankfully you can use not one, two, but 3 controller types: NES, SNES, and Genesis controllers. Though none of them are cross-playable. If you want to play NES, you need an NES controller. There's small issues that vary for different Retron 3's, Some have an extra switch dial that's non-functional or one of the controller ports are a bit loose, Small issues, nothing major. For me, the NES cartridge slot really hangs on to my game and you need to really muscle it out. Its technically not a bad thing but they could of loosened it up a tiny bit. Its a fantastic product that costs about as much as a Super Nintendo and the games play nearly identical to identical. I highly recommend it if you want to play SNES games because a SNES costs about as much but this comes with 3 systems instead of one.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Graphics, sound, playability is good, But when installing a cartridge you'll have to feel for the game cartridge internal slot. Unlike the original consoles this outer slot alignment & internal cartridge slot line don't line up. Sometimes I feel as if I might break it putting in the games. It is just like old times. I had to blow in the Super Mario Bros. game to make it work. I wish the cords that go to the TV for audio and visual weren't so sensitive, bit it's easily overlooked once I start to play.
