One Razor To Rule Them All!
This is a low-profile razor, and it handles excellently. I would definitely recommend this to beginner's or people with sensitive skin. There are a lot of female Amazon reviewers of this product and that does not surprise me, I'm sure my girlfriend will steal this one from me. The downside is it isn't as aggressive, but you can always do a double pass. None of the Chinese made stuff can compare, sorry. I have tried several Chinese-made razors (Pakistani made razors are even worse, sadly), but even Viking's Blade top of the line is not as good as this. Usually the threads go bad, rendering a good Chinese razor completely useless. Get a Merkur, it's the real deal, you will feel the difference immediately and save money from buying replacements!

Better than any double edge razor
Never have I had a closer more comfortable shave, this shaver is a German High Quality Machined wonder. I came back to this type of razor after shaving for years with the throw away double edge plastic razors. Not only are they expensive, they do not give me an affordable close shave like this precision machine does.

Very good quality. Like the longer handle. Would prefer it be a bit heftier and the blade is a bit conservative - I'd prefer something a touch more aggressive. That said - it's a matter of preference. If you're not used to a double edged razor, you'll probably love it.

Beginners/light beard growth
Perfect beginning DE razor or for people who have light to mild beard growth. Long handle is nice for people with big hands. Closed comb males this razor a little bit less aggressive and perfect for beginners. It is a 3 piece razor.

Bad Shave
I read all the reviews on the merkur 23c and was excited to be getting mine. It’s a good looking razor and made very well for the price. I’ve used now for about two weeks and so far I’m disappointed. It takes entirely to long to shave and it’s hard to tell if you have the right angle to cut. Maybe I need a more aggressive razor.

Solid great product
Razor blades for my 2 bladed Schick FX are now $50 for 5. Merkur is solid chrome plated [brass?]. One can get about 100 compatible blades for $10. The razor is beautifully made, comes apart for cleaning, and shaves as well as anything else. I prefer long handled one. Side benefit is it gets warm under hot tap which is quite pleasant on the skin.
