After purchasing a i20 driver I went to buy some new irons. Was hitting Titleist, and had my mind set on some new AP2's. Tested Mizuno, Titleist, then for fun tried the Ping i20's. First hit I fell in love. After hitting 20 or so balls, the result was nice soft feel, great ball flight, can move the ball left, right, up or down with ease. For me the shaft weight seemed to be clincher. I do not like the stock shaft offering in the Titleist and Mizuno's. I ended up getting fitted at two locations, both came up with same result, Ping CFS stiff. This is one of Ping's best designs to date in my opinion. Easy to hit even for a high handicap player for sure. My only mild complaint would be the faces seem to mark up easily, Ping irons are usually more robust and do not mark up easily, but all in all I love my new Ping i20 irons.Read full review
I spent about two months demo'ing clubs - every one on the market at every price point. I feel that these are by far the best overall clubs. Mishits are only barely less accurate than hitting it on the screws. Unless you are a single digit handicapper and can hit forged irons, I really recommend these clubs. The Ping drivers are as good, as well. All of that said, as you probably know, what sets Pings apart is that to purchase them new, any Ping dealer will take up to an hour to custom fit you and spec out for you not only the length (hence the "colors" of black, red, etc.) but also lay (degrees upright, flat, etc), and even bounce. But, Ping has a really great "on line" fit program on their web site that if you take a little time to get your own measurements, will get you nearly as close. Go on line, figure out your specs, and then come back to Ebay for a super deal. I recently bought a set at a golf store with an outside range and knew I was paying at least $200 more to do it. Actually, I think I paid about $850 out the door. But I was happy to do it. The guy that spent over an hour with me was paid by the store. The store pays rent, electricity, insurance, etc - all of the things it needs to do to actually operate a store so I could walk in and get fitted in the first place which (although you are paying retail) they do not charge you for per se. I do NOT work for a golf store. Nor am I in retail in anyway. So all of that said, guys, do as you think is right but I see a few reviews here with people bragging about going to a store to take the time to get fitted and learn all of their specs, and then running on line to purchase. Ebay is great ! But fellow golfers, if we all start doing that, how long do you think we are actually going to have stores to go into ? To say nothing of the bad "golf karma" of having some store and fellow golfer spend an hour with you under false pretenses. If you are going to buy on line, again, Ping's on-line fitting is great. I am looking for a set of clubs for my son and will buy them on Ebay. But I also am not taking him down to spend an hour for free, get his specs, and then run on line.Read full review
This Iron set is a "fitted" set. I went throught the sizing and swing speed considerations prior to buying this iron set. Green dot, Stiff graphite shafts. The results are amazing. I'm hitting the ball straighter than before. Distance is consistant with my previous set, also Pings (i3plus). Shot shaping is much easier with the I20 iron. I have much more control with my draw setup as well as the controlled fade. The 4-U club selection is good for my needs. I will need to pick up a sand or lob wedge for real loft shots. Overall, I couldn't be happier with the irons. And the price was about 1/2 retail value. I believe this set will lower my handicap a few strokes as I hit more greens in regulation. Great set of irons.
Many golf companies make claims about their irons being longer than others. Problem is, they aren't going further because of some great new technology; they're just stamping a higher number on the bottom of the iron, duping undiscriminating buyers. When evaluating irons for distance I suggest you compare irons by LOFT and don't be fooled by the number on the bottom of the iron. With that said I am happy that Ping does not do this. These irons do go further because of new technology. Ping engineers are actually working on improving their products as opposed to having marketing people working on fooling unsuspecting buyers. But distance is only one aspect of these great irons. They also have a nice soft feel, are accurate and pretty forgiving for an iron this size. I have a set and I like them a lot. The only drawback to them is because they are a high launch lower spin iron they can roll out on you depending on what ball you use. You have to adjust to them over a few rounds. And I wish the long irons had a little less offset. Overall, pretty awesome accomplishment by Ping. These may be the iron of the year for 2012.Read full review
Best clubs Ping has made since the i5...very easy to hit and strong lofts keep the ball down. The feel is the softest I have hit from Ping and feels closer to being a forged type feel. The amount of bounce on the sole is perfect for my swing, I usually take bigger divots but the sole really glides threw the turf well and instead of digging the clubs ten to just skip thru the turf...really easy to hit long irons as well!!!
These clubs are better, I feel than the newer i25's, and are almost as great as the coveted Eye 2's and i5's. I've owned and played a lot of different irons, and the i25's are some of the easiest to work, and have better feel than almost any iron out there.. If the chance comes up, definitely buy a set, and play 'em yourself..

In my opinion Ping makes the best golf equipment in the industry. I have played Ping equipment for over 30 years.l have owned 5 sets of ping irons and numerous ping putters. I have been playing golf for over 45 years. I love the i20 irons even though they were used. They are in very good used condition. Some people think they might be the best irons ping has ever made.

Best Ping irons ever? I like these clubs over my G10, Rapture V2, and Ping eye 2. They help groove your swing and become a better striker. The height created by your shots is very good, you still have plenty of spin to stop balls on the green. I purchase these with the XS Nippon Modus 120 steel shafts and the combination is the best ever. The feel on good hits is like touching a feather, the clubs are light. Try them!!!
I have tried the graphite shafts in these and find them very good but not great. I purchased the senior steel shaft in these (i20) and i15's (both have CFS shafts). They are both just as long as the graphite but far more consistent. I am selling the i20's because they are the wrong lie for me. The i15's are so close it doesn't matter. I think they are so close because they both have the CFS shafts. Great club for anyone but a new golfer or someone with a very high handicap. I think a 20 handicapper could easily play either set.
Clubs are in great condition and are easy to hit, the ping shafts are regular but give great feel and the flight of the ball go very nice and cut through the wind. I would recommend these clubs to every one who plays golf.
