Best review(s) can be found at Dyxum . com site, and agree with comments re: excellent IQ, and, sharpness, especially stopping down to f/4-5.6 range. Otherwise, this is a fast f/2.8 lens which is compact, overall small in length with hood built-in, and displaying good manufacturer build. The price is great when compared to newer SONY or other f/2.8 135mm lenses. I shortly will move this lens to a DSLR SONY a57 or a65, alpha mount camera (undecided as yet as to camera choice), this from my current use on the great SONY maxxum 7 film platform. I purchased a ROKINAR 1.3 Teleconverter, and, even with 1 f stop loss with this teleconverter, will have a great tele lens, particular on the aforementioned DSLR camera to be purchased. The only consistent negative I understand exists is some chromatic aberration or purple fringing reported... In conclusion, I got an exceptional condition lens, and couldn't be happier with decision.Read full review
Minolta lenses have nearly always represented very good value for money. This lens is no exception. Even though it is quite old and second hand, it is an excellent optic. The fast F2.8 aperture allows for considerable light-gathering capability and the warm colour rendition makes it ideal for a telephoto lens. Bokeh is quite good and sharpness is good from F2.8, although stopping down one or two stops will yield sharpness right across the focal plane. It would be difficult to buy a lens such as this for anywhere near this price among the more modern offerings.

This is a great lens. The FOV wide open is just great. The small size of the lens itself lends itself well to use on my a7 with the LAE4 Adapter.
Great classic lens for portraits. New versions of this lens would cost 3 to 5 times as much. About the only thing that makes me want a Sony version is the AF noise and speed, more noise than speed, the AF is pretty fast for a lens this old.
Excellent lens. Great find and glad I did. Took forever to get from Israel to the US but worth the wait.
