If you have the relevant speakers, these stands are the only ones worth getting.
Was toying over these for a long time due to the price. Glad I finally opted fro them, the height, stability and finish of these stands is just perfect. I am using these to create surround side spots, and next to the couch they look great. Fabulous sound and looks, but....
These 'What HiFi' award winning speakers from Q Acoustics sound amazing, look great and contemporary rather than space-age and have built-in stands which double as wall-mounts. However, herein lies the big problem. The base includes a ball-joint which is clamped inside the shell. The clamping bolts can be slackened (tool provided) which allows the shell to rotate, to tilt from side to side and tip forward and backward. So far so good. However, once the bolts are re-tightened, there is play in the base which allows the shells to 'flop', some much more so than others. Also, when the base is rotated to act as a wall-mount, this play is magnified dramatically. This play is not in the ball-joint and nor is it due to the bolts being left loose; the play is in the base and is due to a manufacturing error. I have 7 of these speakers, three of which have this fault and I have been through two complete sets of the 5.1 boxed sets, all of of which have this fault and were exchanged under warranty. This particular pair of speakers were manufactured in 2014, mine were all manufactured in late 2015/early 2016 so this fault has been around a while. Designed in the UK these speakers give amazing performance at the price but poor quality control in the manufacturing facility in China lets down the audio experience for me.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
