Dimarzio The Tone Zone
This is a good sounding pickup. I think it's designed for normal music. I'm more into instrumental music. This pickup seems to be made for normal music like rock, metal... with vocals. But I think it does outstanding for instrumental too. It's a high output pickup. never gets muddy. has lots of bass and low mids. for loud bashing music, this pickup will destroy anything in its path. meaning it will plainly kick butt when you're on stage. I have a tone zone on the neck position too but its regular spaced. Two tone zone's in an Ibanez semi hollow body. I just get a great tone out of those two pickups. The only thing I might have a problem with is the bass. it's a bit extreme but I can get used to that. It's like a combination of paul gilbert and metallica. I like the evolution and steve's special more but this pickup is still very usable for my needs. It has a sizzle to it that makes the notes cut through well. It's sort of like the EMG 81 active pickups. I heard it sounds like active pickups and I agree with that. It's one of the best pickups I've heard.
