I use it with shooting video on Lumix GH4. It is a very good lens in terms of build quality (with some notices), image quality and optical stabilization. Sharp image makes it plenty for DMC-GH4 detailed picture. Wide open f2.8 aperture allows to blur out background in pretty good amount. Also I don't see any chromatic aberration. Focusing and zoom rings are pretty smooth. It is no problem with manual focusing on this lens if you have some skill (and camera focus peaking). For me first lens disadvantage is the thin rubber water resist ring on the back side. Strong rain drops are penetrate deep into camera. Second (and not so important for me) is non-parfocal lens. Very good choice for this price.

This lens compliments the Panasonic GH series quite well. I shoot video with the Panasonic Lumix GH3 and this 12-25mm lens is a great lens to own. It's compact in size and has a very durable build to it. Both the zoom and focus rings are extremely smooth. With a built in OIS (image stabilizer), handheld shooting delivers an incredible steady shot (within reason of course). I discovered the secret ingredient to achieving such a clean and crisp image with this lens paired with the GH3 is as follows: (With good to excellent lighting) In Video Mode: 1. Set the camera (GH3) to "High" iDynamic and "High" iResolution 2. Set the image profile to "Standard" using -5 contrast, -2 sharpness, 0 saturation, -5 noise reduction 3. Use a f/2.8 aperture 4. Use aperture priority in menu selection (camera will auto set shutter speed and ISO) in good lighting the auto ISO settings work great. I typically shoot 24p 72Mbps ALL-INTRA MOV But I suggest you use your discretion as to the Recording Quality that appeals to you best for your needs. ***Please note that these settings work best when shooting people at a close to reasonable distance. These settings yield a very sharp/crisp image and shooting too far away from the subject will lead to unwanted aliasing and moire effects. If you are looking for a less sharpened image, i suggest not using the "High" iDyanmic & "High" iResolution settings. Or, use color grading techniques that will soften the image in post production if you use the "High" settings. All in all, this lens is great for videos and photos. I recommend you own this lens if you have a GH series camera.Read full review

The range is perfect for m43 format, and the f/2.8 aperture helps is lower light setups. The image is clean, no obvious visible chromatic aberrations. The lens maintains a great geometry throughout the range. Pretty good for video too, it focuses really fast and the zoom range associated with the crop factor makes it an excellent lens for handheld operations. The bonus is the OIS, it does help smooth out micro shakes. Improvements: I wish Panasonic and Olympus could be a bit more up to date with people's needs. An f/1.8 or f/1.4 constant aperture, parfocal zoom lens with OIS is what most dslr videographers and event photographers would call an amazing and versatile low light lens.. Until the day when Panasonic and Olympus would rival 5D MKIII and an at least 10% or The A7s usable high iso range there will always be a group of unhappy M43 users... 12-35mm f1.8 with OIS would have been greater than any of the lenses Panasonic and Olympus have been providing to their loyal customer at heavy prices. If sigma can do it, why can't they?Read full review

I have been using this Lens for 2 months and I found that it is comparable to my P25, better than P14 prime Lens. It is more flexible than the P25. I don't have to change lens often, especially on a trip when luggage weight is also a consideration. This lens provide better color rendition than P14. It is very sharp, and waterproof, a Pro Lens class. It may be sharper than the P25 when OIS come into play, reduce handshake and which is vital for low light condition. The lens flare issue doesn't border me, and I found that it is an advantage for night scene.

I think getting this lens used is really s great deal. You can get one on eBay for around $500-$600 which is not much more than certain prime lenses within the focal length range of this lens--and you get a zoom with ois . True you don't get f1.7 but I think thats a decent trade off. Image quality is great. I think this is a really good upgrade to the kit lens.

I have Panasonic GX7 and multiple prime lenses: 14mm, 20mm, 25mm, 35mm, 75mm. Also have 14 to 140 zoom and standard 14-50 and 50-150. This lens is awesome and has essentially taken over all my primes. Sharp and great aperture with constant f2.8. Weather sealed and rugged. Now I just need to upgrade to gx8 to match.

its just money!!! the clarity is great and the build quality is awesome i would totally recommend the lens i have some pics taken with this lens on a gx-85 lumix body its great in low light probably just a step below the fixed focal length lenses only because of the 2.8 fstop is the lowest it will go where as my 25mm lumix lens will go down to 1.8 f stop and this is only for low light shooting

One of the best M43 lenses available with very useful zoom range. Can aslo be used both day and night with maximum f2.8. Image Stabilization works great!!. Background blur is not impressive as olympus 45mm f1.8, but quite good. I do not miss using a prime lens with that range 12-35mm. Overall, I love this lens and plan to keep it as long as I have a M43 camera.
Such a good all around lens. Was using the Olympus 12-50mm prior to this and had a decent copy. Was pretty happy with it. Purchased a Panasonic GX8 a bit ago and was having purple cast issues with the 12-50mm, so I decided it was time to upgrade to the Panasonic 12-35mm f2.8.. wow, it was a much bigger step up in clarity, sharpness and color rendition than I expected. It took my GX8 to another level on image quality. Superb lens! Lens is a no brainer on Panasonic bodies.

With this little glass you can almost forget about all the other lens if you are on the run. 1. Good sharpness for zoom lens 2. Wide enough for most shots 3. Descent low light performance. Not the best but can handle low light situations. 4. Good image stabilization 5. Acceptable bokeh for portraits All of these makes it a perfect travel lens. It lacks only telephoto capability but it's obvious that in this case it would loose all its advantages like sharpness. Highly recommended as the main and most versatile glass.
