I love this system. I spent DAYS crawling through "various sites" trying to piece together a system filled names like bose, klipsch, pioneer, etc. I had no plan on going with an all-in-one system. I had shopping sites in one browser window and product reviews in another window. As usual, i found that with every technological advance, created was another potential problem or recall or new series such as the 1516 is now the great 1517 only to be outdated 3 months later by the new and improved 1518! After the headache that was worse that the one i got looking for mortgage rates, this one popped up in my search. I couldnt find anything wrong with it and believe me, I was looking. It was brand new and better than the system i was going to piece together myself. It is incredibly easy to install and mount. Subwoofer will rattle your ribs if you want it too and the speakers are flawless. Ive got it hooked to a Yamaha Receiver (no hdmi) and I could not be more pleased. If you want sound and ease of hookup, this is exactly what you are looking for.Read full review
First off let me explain that the Energy Classic speakers in this kit are the exact same as the Energy Take Classic 5.1 except that you don't get the subwoofer. These speakers are just mind boggling good. They come in gloss piano black finish. They sound better than any speakers I've ever owned - even ones 5 times bigger. I use them mostly for music thru my Onkyo receiver but home theater sounds just as good. You can crank these babies up and they reward you with very clean and accurate sound. The first song I listened to with these was Khatru off Keys To Ascension and it put a big smile on my face. Anyway the best reason to get this set as opposed to the 5.1 kit is that you can match these up with a better subwoofer than the Energy sub. I got the Yamaha SW315 in piano black and it's a great match. Highly recommended. Just remember to use the proper gauge speaker wire for the length of your run and you'll be in great shape.Read full review
Before buying these, I had done all of my research, and this system seemed to have the best reviews for their size hands down. I still was not prepared for how amazing they are! I have heard many $1000+ systems that don't compare to these. Positives: -All of the speakers blend together so well. I would have thought otherwise by just looking at them and observing that the sub woofer is the same size as all other speakers put together. The highs, meds, and lows all match each other step for step. -The clarity of every sound is amazing! I hear sounds I never previously knew existed in my movies and music. -They look beautiful, especially with the dust covers off. -Many subs "auto power off" feature can start to annoy since it shuts down too easily unless you are at high volumes. Not the case with this system. It shuts off about 10 minutes after no sounds are playing - period. It will not shut off during your movie or music. -Super small, super light (yet put out so well) -The speakers put out sound over a very wide area. Worrying about perfect placement so that you can actually hear the speakers from where you are sitting isn't as big of an issue with these as many others. Negatives: -Pick up fingerprints and dust fairly easily -Won't work as well for a very large roomRead full review
I purchased this energy take classic 5.1 simply because I saw the great reviews such as on CNET. I was always hoping the system would be good, but thought for the price it is too good to be true. For this reason I didn't get my hopes up too high. Boy have I been rewarded! This system can't possibly be delivering this clear, detailed and room evacuating sound, but it is! I am running these speaker off a decent Yamaha RX-V781 so I can give the speakers what they are built for so I guess I am hearing what they can do. I still have plenty of break in time, optimisation and adjustment to get the best. If that can even be possible. I would recommended this Energy Take Classic to everyone reading this review. You will be laughing when you first crank it:) Thats how impressive it is. My family pretty much ran away frightened:)Read full review

Great buy and great sound!! Had 4 BIC America Ventures Series Towers and center channel at 150 watts each and a 350 Cerwin Vega 12" powered sub on a Denon 3802 home theater amp before this. It sounded amazing but I needed room so I had to part with it. I bought the Energy Take Classics expecting to be disappointed but I wasn't!! These are really a great speaker in a tiny box!!! My room is 20 ft X 23 ft......I used 16 AWG CL2 rated Radio Shack speaker wire for the speakers, and a 15ft RCA jack with red and white male tips on each end. At low volume it sounds as good as my towers but at high volume the towers can't be touched. All in all this is a fantastic sounding, great looking set of satellite speakers I would recommend without a doubt!!
Excellent sounding Speakers. Beautifully designed and crafted. Best Value in the market. These speakers are a true gem get them while you still can. Energy is no longer in business so there is a limited supply of new in the box speakers in the market, because of this Cnet does not rank them anymore. They where on Cnets best speaker in its class list for over 7 years and with good reason. This is my second set. I purchased my first set 6 years ago and placed them in my living room. They have performed and held up beautifully with both music a home theater. Excellent quality. I got this second set for my room, easiest decision I've ever had to make. Speakers take sometime to break in, so sound will improve and get better with time. Be sure to break in these speaker properly you won't regret it. You can pay 3 to 4 times more for speakers that won't look as good or perform as well as these beauties. Pound per pound the best speakers you can get.Read full review

This is my first Home Theater system and I decided to buy it after reading reviews of several systems. Usually the delivery time from US to Israel is about a month I got the speaker after 11 days! intact. The speakers are connected to Marantz NR1508 receivers. The speakers are mounted in the living room and the sound is great for such small speakers.

The speakers are great looking. Looking forward to listening to them when I get a new receiver. Old receiver died. Must save to get new receiver. Got them because most reviews rated them very good for the price. I do not think I will be disappointed. With the black high gloss finish, must be careful, will scratch very easy. Build quality is excellent. Will update review on sound quality later, when I get to use them. Only gave a good rating now, because I haven't listened to them yet. Sorry it took so long to update. These speakers sound outstanding for the price and I'm very happy with them. I would buy again if I needed to. I recommend these to anyone on a budget. The 5.1 surround sound I could not be happier with.
Gave my old set bought in 2011 to our daughter & son-in-law to enjoy with our RX-671 Yammy Receiver. Tops! They're chuffed! Alas, dear ol' Dad hankered for an Energy 5.1 set to replace the dinky desktop computer speakers in my basement office. PERFECT... B-I-G sound - floor (slab) shaking bass via a new mid-ranfeYammy RX-551 receiver (have a RX-771 upstairs). These just can't be beat for 137 clams used! The 8" ported down throw sub rattles my brain on JT'S " Frozen Man" - makes me laugh out loud it sounds so good! GET SOME!
