SynopsisPerfect for fans of A Song of Ice and Fire and HBO's Game of Thrones , these twelve stunning full-color maps--packaged together in a hardcover case that fits neatly on your bookshelf--are ideal for framing. George R. R. Martin's beloved series is bursting with a variety and richness of landscapes--from bitter tundra to arid wasteland and everything in between--that provide a sense of scale unrivaled in contemporary fantasy. Now this dazzling set of twelve foldable maps, featuring original artwork from illustrator and cartographer Jonathan Roberts, transforms Martin's epic saga into a world as fully realized as the one around us. The centerpiece of this gorgeous collection is guaranteed to be a must-have for any fan: the complete map of the known world, joining the lands of the Seven Kingdoms and the lands across the Narrow Sea for the first time in series history. But this is just one of many unique maps that aren't available anywhere else. There is an alternate version that tracks the movements of the series' protagonists through A Dance with Dragons , along with more detailed versions of the western, middle, and eastern thirds of the world; a full map of Westeros, combining North and South; one of the Dothraki Sea and the Red Wastes; and the Braavos city map. And here, too, are fan favorites detailing everything from urban sprawl to untamed wilds: maps of King's Landing; The Wall and Beyond the Wall; the Free Cities; and Slaver's Bay, Valyria, and Sothyros. Never before has the entire scope of Martin's universe been so exhaustively and fascinatingly depicted. The maps in this beautiful, one-of-a-kind collection will enrich your reading or viewing experience, provide another view of your favorite characters' epic journeys, and open up captivating new worlds--plus, they'll look great on any castle wall.

  • It's a helpful collection of maps that anchor the story and events for the books/show.

This is not actually a book but rather a collection of large folded maps. The cover is a binder that the maps go into. Sometimes i like to reference a particular place on the maps, when re-reading the novels; and these maps are a lot bigger then the online interactive map of Westeros. However it's not all that "accurate" with the story line because a lot of important places are missing. i noticed that such significant landmarks as "Clegane Hall" (that should be southeast of Lannisport) and Baelysh Keep (Littlefinger's silly little dump of a castle that shames him and that is located on one of the Fingers) are just not there. These are significant omissions when you consider the maps are of a fictiicous world and many of the locations are crucial to the mythos and the story. But other then those minor quibbles, these are not too bad if you use them along with other sources.

  • Another must have product

Another absolute must have for fans of GOT, HOTD, ASOIAF, or just the world of Westeros/essos. The maps allow you to visualize the journeys of the characters from the shows/books. How far they had to trek to get places. Where places were in comparison. It's great to just visualize everything. The maps themselves are of great quality. They do all have to be unfolded/folded. But just keep an eye out for a good price and its a steal for an avid fan. Another must have for fans of this world and is great paired with the book "the world of ice and fire"
