I purchased this on a whim. I like it but it is bulky and dated for daily use and I use it at my electronics workbench and hope the Windows holds up or I will need to reload a newer version to make it work. I may just use a version of 8.1 I purchased for home use to keep this GoBook3 working into the future. It's OK for $80 as a reminder of my past.

I bought this beacuse I wanted a laptop that will stay working for a while. I don't really need all the "tough" features but in my experience, laptops just don't last. I have gone through several Panasonic Toughbooks which seem to just die sitting on the shelf. Any such product has some peculiarities and so does this one. For one, the glowing keyboard doesn't work. I have two of these and neither work. So, if you are buying one, make sure the seller guarantees it works if it is important to you. The Hard drive is in a caddy but doesn't seem shock mounted like the one in the Toughbook. If you plan on rough treatment, get a solid state drive, for sure. The case is mostly metal and difficult to disassemble. It doesn't seem all that sturdy to me. Like any older laptop, there will be little things that either don't work, or are missing. The WiFi seems decent and one of mine has Bluetooth though I have never been able to get it to connect with my phone. Itronics does have some drivers available for download but no BIOS updates. To me, this isn't something you want to buy if you need a fast, reliable laptop that can take abuse. It is just too old. It makes a neat toy to play with though.Read full review
The laptop is heavy, it has a short battery life (used battery, about 3 hours; new battery, about 5 hours). The screen is smallish, and it's not nearly the fastest laptop around - even for the price. However, people who point out these flaws miss the point, and likely should never have bought one of these in the first place. The case is magnesium alloy, the keyboard is waterproof, the ports are all sealed, and the internals are cushioned. if you think a 10lb laptop, like this one, is overly heavy to the top of a mountain so you can carry out a necessary function, try carrying a lighter one the same distance only to find that is won't carry out the mission - because it couldn't take the abuse. Everything is a trade-off, if you don't need near absolute reliability under adverse conditions, don't buy an Itronix. If a lesser computer will serve your needs, then certainly you should buy something else. If you need near absolute reliability, you already know everything I'm saying.Read full review

I was having a problem with the wireless feature in my gobook III. I picked up one of these tested cards and it fixed all the issues I was experiencing. Thank you. Joe

My Experience on this laptop is no good because I bought it from this place just last year it worked for a while for instance the screen stopped working it very dim and sometimes it shows a cartoon picture on it.They sold it for $150.00 and it did not include the caddy and now I'm back to look at their prices and they sell it even cheaper with everything on it.Honestly it's not fair for me to have pay this amount of money for nothing. Now I have to hook an external monitor to it if not I can not see anything on the computer and not able to use it at all. It's not refurbished it's a pretty old model and heavy used. Now I have to eat it up like a peace of turd every day.He said that it was the nicest one he had nothing but lies Good Luck to you all and I hope something like this does not happen to any one with a heavy used laptop like this one I have.To every one be careful from whom you buy from not every one can be trusted take it from me with this kind of experience.Read full review
