Unfortunately, this documentary isn't about 70's/80's ganja smuggling in the US in general, but the focus on Florida ends up being a plus, as it allows for plenty of time to go into more detail of individual stories. The film is divided into three parts, each focused on a different story. Although relying mostly on 'talking heads', there is some use of archival news and television footage to ilustrate the tales, and this minimal approach doesn't get boring, as the details of these stories are so engaging, and often funny. If you're interested in the subject matter, this is an engrossing viewing experience, and thankfully free of the violence overkill and graphic crime scene photos that featured in Cocaine Cowboys. Sympathetic viewers will be both awed and amused at the sheer brass balls of these people and the scale of what they - for a time at least - got away with.Read full review
