I want to say that I have looked for a 220/240 volt speed control for a while, there are many 110volt ones that can be bought but the US 110v wont work on AU 240v I have not fully tested it but so far I see that it does work so if you have a tool that runs too fast then you can use this speed control to knock the speed back, It is rated up to 4000watts, I only intend to run about 900watts so I'm sure that will work OK, I cannot say how well long term use at 4000wattts will work but this unit will work on any tool, Like a Router or angle grinder that runs too fast. I actually bough a second one as the first one will get permanently used with one device so I wanted to have one to use with other tools. It comes without a Universal UK/European type power outlet so you will have to buy an AU adapter for the outlet point, I got one from Jaycar. NRead full review

I got this as a cheaper alternative to a proper variable frequency motor controller. Got it to run a cheap 600W garden blower for a furnace. Minimum it will work is about 35-45V before it can’t maintain speed but that is just low enough for my use. Quality of the unit itself is as expected from China but it is fair for the price. No doubt a frequency controller would work better but for now this is perfectly fine and for the money can’t complain.

It works really well with resistive loads, I haven't tried inductive loads. I used it with a 2kw water heater and the unit hardly got warm.
