On this particular bandspread model (Used), I didn't have to align the front end of the receiver and found it "on wide mode" to be about .15uv at 15db Sinad from 140 MHz to 162 and can't remember any red flags on the narrow performance. On TX, the wide Deviation was just under 4khz and Nar was at 2.7 so I was impressed left it alone. It didn't require all the work that for example an earlier TK-730H(G) would to perform on both the 2M Ham band AND on the VHF commercial spectrum. In addition on this 90, there was no TX or RX filter chop or fall off at 140 and 162 mhz. The only downside I can find with the 790H is that the heat sink dissipation isn't as good as the older 730's and it can only do 100% duty cycle at 20 watts. But in long conversations at 110 watts, the 90 really didn't seem to get unusually warm with a 1:1 antenna match on the antenna. On this one the KCH-11 Head is now being used because of the extra buttons and display characters. I've ordered an 890H to try out on the UHF spectrum in the attempt to achieve what this one is doing and I hope to let you know in a few weeks how that turns out... -Doug- Read full review
