    Lightning from a clear sky, as an innocent man gets dragged into a nightmare

    This is a good Hitchcock film from the 1940s. My objection is to the "Two-Disc Special Edition" designation. It implies that the "Preview Version" differs substantially from the "Final Release Version." In fact, there is virtually no difference at all between the versions, just extra cost.

    Entertaining, sort of.

    My wife and I watched this movie and it was just ok. Parts of it were kind of creepy. The book is SO much better!! But for the most part it was entertaining, and after all, it is a good old fashioned black and white movie!

    Hitchcock at his best.

    A story that has been repeated in other forms, but never as well as it is here. A psychotic rich guy concocts a plan to do away with his father which involves an innocent man. Quite delicious.
