Shakespeare In Love is a romantic comedy for the 1990's set in the 1590's, telling the witty, sexy story behind the creation of the greatest love story of them all - Romeo and Juliet. I bought the DVD to replace the''video cassette''. I know and LOVE this most excellent movie very well....I have enjoyed it multiple times and that is how such quality grabs you. All cast brilliant....everything brilliant, reflecting Shakespeare's times, politics.....and comedy. . Hidden jokes....the multi Oscar winner movie with excellent music is a ''stand out '' for years and Paltrow perfect ...as is Fiennes SHAKESPEARE would love this movie and be flattered..... Historically speaking ...Virginians were so called before they even sailed to seek a colony in the 1580's....Raleigh's flattery and ambition for Elizabeth to secure a colony for her in return to her granting of ships for the adventure.....
