Great Shakespeare, and great locations

My first piece of advice is to quickly google a synopsis of each "movie" or episode before you start watching. Then you will know who all the characters are and roughly what happens in each movie. The cinematography, locations, costumes, music etc are all beautiful and help make this very enjoyable. It's Shakespeare though - you're either going to understand it, love it, feel the words and so on, or you're going to be lost, bored or underwhelmed. I admit, after watching Richard II (the first movie), I was in both camps. It was good, but I'd hardly be racing to re-watch the two and a half hours I just got through. Henry IV (both parts) and Henry V are both better in some respects - they are actually funny, sweet, have a faster pace and more interesting characters. And I didn't realise it at the time, but it really helps to watch everything in order. The performances were great (again, the dialogue is going to determine if you agree with me) but of course Tom stole the show ;) I wouldn't normally watch this sort of thing (sure, when you're in school you watch a few Shakespeare adaptions to understand your studies better) but I'm glad that I did and I would recommend it :)Read full review
