Any high-use kitchen appliance that's plastic is a very temporary item! Especially one like this where there's a lot of pressure (for operating the on-switch). Similarly on this machine the plastic housing for the cutting blade, and the top of the replaceable blades disc. They should be made of stronger material. That said, it's good to be able to buy replacement parts for when the inevitable occurs.
